When I met first you sang
So sweetly to the stars
The ancient warriors looked down and smiled
And Venus collided with Mars

We danced in our mythical playground
Built so many years ago
We offered up our sacrifice of love
And watched it grow

The sculptures that the earth had built
Were bedposts for that night
We were wrapped around each other
Until the morning light

Where were you when the sun came up
And dried the morning dew?
Did I dream of carressing your snow white skin
And face of ashen blue?

It felt so real by the bracken trail
When we touched hands in the pale moonlight
I awoke in a haze to what I thought
Was crystal clear bright

When your dreams come crashing down and plummet to the floor
Your trust goes out the window, your heart walks out the door
And when your eyes are open and you're still blinded by deceit
You're seeing things that only you can see

I closed my eyes once more to find out
Where my love has flown
You had nested on the castle ruins
Where the weeds had overgrown

You flew once more into an old graveyard
And rested on a broken headstone
Following you to journey's end
I find myself alone
